RETRO-STREET FUSION
Growing up near Palm Springs, California, my family and I would often venture into the desert a few times each year. The lasting impression of the 60s and 70s architecture in the area always stayed with me. Drawing from this inspiration, I decided to incorporate it into my senior collection.
Exploring the aesthetics of that era led me to blend the retro vibes of Palm Springs with the space-age fashion of the late 60s. I was able to look back at the works of designers like Paco Rabanne, Andres Courreges, and Pierre Cardin from that time, and I was captivated by their collections. Their use of geometric shapes and futuristic elements felt reminiscent of the mid-century modern homes dotting the Palm Springs landscape.
With these influences in mind, I set out to create a collection that pays homage to the past while projecting into the future. Combining elements of 60s space-age fashion and architecture, I crafted a contemporary take and streetwear approach to my designs. Together this created the name Retro-Street Fusion.
